Avio Automation System

With its sophisticated test equipment and facilities for in-house qualification, the Quality System guarantees full compliance with the most demanding national and international standards in the defence (AQAP, MIL, NAV, FINABEL) and civilian (IEC-CEI, IEEE, ISO, DIN) sectors.

During its many years of active commitment in the marine automation sectors, the Automation System Department has fitted out over 150 merchant and military ships with platform supervision and control systems.

In the former name of SEPA, the Department achieved resounding success in the 70’s, with the first new integrated digital system for the “Lupo” class frigates of the Italian Navy, and placed the company in a prime position in this sector. The most recent products, including advanced platform automation systems and autopilots, have been successfully installed in the main ships worldwide (Europe, South America, the Far East and Australia).

Furthermore, it supplies functional Test Equipment and Training Centres with simulation systems and trainers based on mathematical models, which simulate the behaviour of on-board machinery.

The products developed by Avio include all the platform automation functions that are relevant to the ship’s navigation, safety and stability, offering a full variety of integrated instruments for ship’s management.
